Our SAT Courses cover the content, skills, and strategies required for student success on the paper-based SAT. Each course consists of engaging teaching sessions and timed, proctored practice tests. Our experienced teachers are committed to getting to know each individual student and maintaining open lines of communication with students and parents. After an introductory email to gather information about students, the teachers send a weekly recap of each session detailing what was covered and what’s to be done – both written assignments and unwritten study – work in advance of the next class. Students are grouped by ability and also receive individualized attention in all of our courses.

Why take our Courses:

Commitment to high-quality curriculum development. Our teachers combine years of classroom experience with expert knowledge of the ins and outs of the SAT. They have experience working with a range of learners and will bring out the best in each student. Students are grouped by ability, and each course includes at least one full practice test administered under authentic conditions. Our instructors monitor student performance and use the results of the timed test to guide future instruction.

Purposeful communication. Before the start of each class, teachers invite information from parents and students, seeking feedback about preferred learning styles and past performance. Throughout the course, teachers email weekly reminders about the work accomplished in class and provide suggestions for continued preparation at home.

Accessibility. Our teachers arrive early to class so that they can work with students individually. Between sessions, students are invited to email teachers with questions. We also offer numerous extra help sessions so that students can make up missed classes, take additional practice sections, or meet with instructors.

Flexibility. Students can make up classes at the other sessions (if available), as long as they attend classes in order. In addition, students who cannot attend our courses can request a private tutor to help them prepare for any examination.

VIRTUAL LEARNING WITH CARNEGIE PREP We’re excited to share our unique take to online learning, our approach, and our teachers.

Carnegie Prep on virtual learning

Hey Mr. Scotch and Mr. Columbo – I got a 1570 on my SAT with a 780 in Writing and a 790 in Math. On the essay I got a 5, a 6, and a 7. Overall, I am super happy with how I did, and I just want to say a big thank-you for helping me achieve my goals for the test!

AM, Student

Rick and Ross, I just wanted to thank you guys so much for all you’ve done for me during the SAT course. Throughout the SAT course, you guys have been so incredibly helpful in preparing me for the test. There were a lot of kids in the class, but you managed to make us feel like it was a one on one session, and for that, I cannot thank you enough.

CM, Student

Rick and Ross, I wanted to thank you all again for all the help you’ve given me this year. I am extremely happy with my score and I owe a lot of my achievement to you guys. Thanks to your guidance I was able to improve my score and bring it above my goal score. The strategies you guys taught were not in any prep book.

JA, Student

My son has signed up to take the October 7 SAT as well, AND signed up to do your Sunday night prep class starting in September. When he took his practice SAT in your class last Friday, he improved his last fall PSAT score (closest thing he has in comparison) by 100 points. You guys are wonderful.

HR, Parent

My son definitely felt prepared! It made a tremendous difference, him taking your class. It also did with my other son way back when two years ago. Your teachers care and you care and it shows.

HR, Parent

It is a big relief for my son to do well on the first round of SATs. Ross was instrumental in helping him with the verbal. He got a near perfect score on the math but needed to boost his verbal. I wish you could have seen his face when he read the email. It was priceless! First thing he did was reach out to Ross. That speaks mounds!

LK, Parent

You did not skip a beat when I asked to move him into a later session. The instructors’ knowledge and enthusiasm was instrumental; their emails were incredibly helpful, giving students a perfect guide to what should be happening at home between classes as well as in preparation for test day. It took the pressure off us as a family.

CP, Parent

The SAT course was the key to unlocking his potential. This is a kid who truly struggled at school. His success will go far beyond easing the college application process. He is beginning to believe us when we tell him he can. His performance in all areas of life seems to be improving, and his confidence is growing. A parent could not ask for more.

CP, Parent

B has been selected as a winner of the National Merit $2500 Scholarship. Thank you, Lynn, for taking time last year to discuss the possibility with me. The classes B took for the PSAT, SAT, and SAT Subject Tests were fantastic. He couldn’t have done better!

ED, Student

Thanks so much for advising me to have S. take the SAT in May. She ended up re-taking it. Given that most schools superscore, she’ll be applying to colleges with scores of 800, 800, and 750…not too bad. I so appreciate you taking the time to speak with me. It was well worth it, and she never would have done it had you and I not had that conversation.
