Ernie Chen holds a BS in Biology and Chemistry from NYU and a Master’s degree from Yale. He is currently completing his PhD in Genetics at Yale, where his research explores the intersection of human genomics, disease, and data science.
Ernie has over a decade of experience mentoring and teaching students across a wide range of academic levels. He has worked with high schoolers exploring scientific research for the first time, undergraduates navigating rigorous pre-med coursework, and students preparing for high-stakes exams. His passion for teaching and mentorship brought him to Carnegie Prep in 2023, where he tutors students in SAT and ACT prep, as well as biology and mathematics.
In his free time, Ernie enjoys rooting for the Yankees, discovering new foods, and has a particular love for anything spicy. He is also deeply interested in the evolving capabilities of AI and how it can enhance both education and research.
Ernie and his fiancée live in New Haven, CT.

Course Description
The SAT Course is eight sessions and provides a complete overview of the content, skills, and strategies required for success on the SAT. This course includes two timed, proctored practice SATs and optional extra help sessions.

1. Wednesday, 7/16: 6:00pm - 9:00pm

3. Wednesday, 7/30: 6:00pm - 9:00pm
4. Sunday, 8/3: 9:00am - 12:00pm (practice SAT)*
5. Wednesday, 8/6: 6:00pm - 9:00pm
6. Wednesday, 8/13: 6:00pm - 9:00pm
7. Sunday, 8/17: 9:00am - 12:00pm (practice SAT)*
8. Wednesday, 8/20: 6:00pm - 9:00pm
*Practice Tests: Timed, proctored practice SATs are administered in person at Greenwich Country Day School. The practice test begins at 9:00am for those students with Standard Time and at 8:00am for students with 50% Extended Time. Students are encouraged to take the practice test in person to simulate the actual test day experience. Students who cannot attend in person can take the test remotely.
