Our SAT/ACT Diagnostic Courses introduce students to the format, timing, and basic strategies associated with the SAT and the ACT. The goal of these courses is to help students determine which test will yield the higher score for them, and to map out each student’s optimal testing plan.

Why take a Diagnostic Course:

Learn about the SAT and ACT. Our SAT/ACT Diagnostic Courses are taught by experienced teachers and available for Standard Time and Extended Time students. They consist of four sessions:

  1. An introduction to the SAT
  2. A timed practice SAT administered in a simulated testing environment
  3. An introduction to the ACT
  4. A timed practice ACT administered in a simulated testing environment

Determine a personal preference between the tests. Upon the completion of the course, students and families receive a personalized consultation with test prep expert, Jerry Carnegie. This consultation helps students and families interpret the results of the practice tests and identify a preference between the SAT and ACT.

Map out a testing timeline and personalized preparation plan. After determining a preference between the SAT and ACT, we customize a testing timeline and personalized plan to help students prepare.

Resources

To register for the SAT, go here.

The Question-and-Answer Service (QAS) is available for the October, March, and May exams. The QAS provides you with a full copy of your test, your answers, and information about the type and difficulty of each question. It can be purchased when you register or up to five months after you take the test.

The Student Answer Service (SAS) provides a student’s answers and information about the type and difficulty of test questions. This service is available for the August, November, December and June test dates. For more information, click here.

To cancel your SAT scores from a test date, you must notify the College Board before 11:59pm Eastern Time on the Thursday after your test date. Follow the College Board’s cancellation instructions here. You may not see your scores before canceling them; once a test has been scored, that remains on the College Board’s record.

Please call the College Board at 866.756.7346 with any questions regarding test registration and score verification services.

As of September 2018, there will be an experimental section for all students taking the ACT with standard time (with or without the essay). This fifth test will not impact the student’s score and will be 20 minutes long.

To permanently delete your ACT results from a test date, submit a written request to the ACT. Provide your name and home address, and they will mail you a form to complete and return. All scores from that test date will be deleted, but if you have already sent your scores to colleges, those colleges still have your scores. Write to:
