Our ACT Course covers the content, skills, and strategies required for student success. Each course consists of engaging teaching sessions and timed, proctored practice tests. Our experienced teachers are committed to getting to know each individual student and maintaining open lines of communication with students and parents. After an introductory email to gather information about students, the teachers send a weekly recap of each session detailing what was covered and what’s to be done – both written assignments and unwritten study-work in advance of the next class. Students are grouped by ability and also receive individualized attention in all of our courses.

ACT testing centers in Fairfield and Westchester Counties fill up quickly. Register as soon as you decide to take the ACT to make sure you can take the test at a convenient location.

Why take our Courses:

Commitment to high-quality curriculum development. Our teachers combine years of classroom experience with expert knowledge of the ins and outs of the ACT. They have experience working with a range of learners and will bring out the best in each student. Students are grouped by ability, and each course includes at least one full practice test administered under authentic conditions. Our instructors monitor student performance and use the results of the timed test to guide future instruction.

Purposeful communication. Before the start of each class, teachers invite information from parents and students, seeking feedback about preferred learning styles and past performance. Throughout the course, teachers email weekly reminders about the work accomplished in class and provide suggestions for continued preparation at home.

Accessibility. Our teachers arrive early to class so that they can work with students individually. Between sessions, students are invited to email teachers with questions. We also offer numerous extra help sessions so that students can make up missed classes, take additional practice sections, or meet with instructors.

Flexibility. Students can make up classes at the other sessions (if available), as long as they attend classes in order. In addition, students who cannot attend our courses can request a private tutor to help them prepare for any examination.

VIRTUAL LEARNING WITH CARNEGIE PREP We’re excited to share our unique take to online learning, our approach, and our teachers.

Carnegie Prep on virtual learning

Wow, remote classroom learning worked really, really well for us. Kudos to you for being innovative, creative, and thinking outside the box to problem solve and implement such an enormous switch in a matter of days!

The distance learning made the course a bit more challenging, but I really liked how the format and structure was basically the same as one that we would do in class, just on a computer.

RM, Student

Austin Leah and Duane Smith were great and extremely helpful throughout the entire process.

CO, Student

Thank you very much for the tremendous help during the ACT course! I especially appreciated the one-on-one feedback we were able to receive in class as well as the convenience of being able to approach the teacher by email on days where we did not meet. I would gladly enroll in another class.

ZL, Student

Our daughter is loving these classes! She says you all know her by name, she feels super supported, she says you all are so engaging and make the work so interesting, and she is doing so well! Thank you for everything. There is nothing in the world more valuable than teachers that inspire and motivate students and make them excited to learn!

TD, Parent

I have some fantastic, and I mean FANTASTIC, news to share with you. You did amazing work with my daughter! I’ve never heard of anybody improving their score so much.

EG, Parent

I just wanted to let you know how pleased we are with Emma. She has been working with our son for just a little over a month. You can read below that his initial score was a 25 before any tutoring. He took a second practice test on Saturday and scored a 28 overall with two 30’s.
Thank you Emma! We are excited!

HA, Parent

Jerry, your mothers direction and support from day one with subject test strategy, pairing my son with Caroline for ACT prep and essay editing, you coming out of retirement to share your wisdom, providing a few other amazing tutors for the little extra push, and suggesting we find an outside counselor that’s a fit were all individual acts that amounted to something big!!!!

Kyle is an amazing ACT tutor! He has the patience of a saint and my son’s score is every bit a reflection of him as it is of Nicholas. Lynn has been my greatest advisor these last 4 years and every word of advice she has given has been on the mark. So don’t go anywhere because I have two more kids coming down the line!
