SAT Preparation
Developed by the College Board, the SAT measures academic achievement and critical thinking. U.S. juniors (Class of 2025) will be the first to take the brand new, shorter, digital adaptive SAT debuting in March 2024.
The new digital adaptive SAT is two hours and 14 minutes – split between a Reading and Writing section and a Math section. Each section contains two stage adaptive modules. Your performance on the first module will dictate the difficulty of the second module. Unlike the previous 3-hour paper-and-pencil SAT, students can take the test on their own laptop or tablet or school-issued device at school or an approved testing center. The test is administered through the College Board’s Bluebook app.
The SAT is accepted by all US colleges and universities; Public schools in Connecticut require all juniors to sit for the SATs.
The SAT: Test Overview
- Reading and Writing (54 questions, 64 minutes)
- Math (44 questions, 70 minutes)
